Guidance For New Christians

Angels In Heaven Are Rejoicing

God tells us that the angels in heaven are joyful you 1) seriously believed in Jesus Christ, 2) from the depth of your heart repented of your sins and 3) with your mouth confessed that Jesus is Lord of our Life. Here is the verse,

. . . there is joy  in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Luke 15:10 (NASB)

Just think, the angels in heaven are rejoicing that you are a Christian. But what do you do next? Plan to review the marks of a Christian. and be confident that you are a Christian. Then pursue the following five steps.

1) What Does God Want Most From A Christian

First, we encourage you to read “God’s Great Passion.” It will reveal that God wants a closer relationship with you and you will discover one very important thing that God wants from you now that you are a Christian.

2) Locate a Great Bible Teach Church

Second, we encourage you to locate a church in your area that teaches the Bible verse-by-verse. We also encourage you to read the following articles. The both articles will guide you in selecting a good church.

A Call: Teach The Bible
How do I know which church to attend?

3) Get Baptized

Third, we would also encourage you to be baptized in water. The early Christians were baptized as a sign to everyone else that were Christians. It was a symbol of dying to our old self and when we come up out of the water it symbolizes new life in Christ. We encourage you to read the article, “Is baptism symbolic?”  Further, it is important to know that baptism does not save a person. This is explained in two articles “Must we be baptized to be saved?”   and “Is Baptism Required For Salvation?” Baptism should occur in a church.

4) Learn Important Truths From The Bible

Fourth, we would also encourage you to start studying the series called “Solid Roots.” Study each lesson and check your answers. As you do the studies, we encourage you to ask questions and seek help. It will guide you through some basic truths about the Christian faith.

5) Choose an Excellent Bible and Study It

Fifth, choose a good Bible and start studying the Life of Christ and listen to the study series on the book of Ephesians. The Life of Christ is about Jesus and it is organized in chronological order. Here are the links,

6) Read The Bible In One Year

Sixth, we encourage you read your Bible daily. Visit our Read Your Bible In One Year. Read it every day. In Deuteronomy 17:18-20, God told the king to copy the first part of the Bible and read it every day. It is important that we read the Bible every day.

Now it shall come about when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll   in the presence of the Levitical priests. It shall be with him and he shall read it  all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God,  by carefully observing all the words of this law and these statutes, that his heart may not be lifted up above his  countrymen  and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or the left . . . Deuteronomy 17:18-20  (NASB)

7) Tell Others About Jesus Christ

Seventh, Jesus commanded us to tell others about Him to others.

Go therefore and  make disciples of  all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you  always, even to the end of the age.  Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore, we should obey Him. One of the best ways is to tell others why you believe in Jesus Christ.
