Gaza Peace Plan In the Middle East?

Peace in the Middle East between Israel and its Arab neighbors has not existed since Israel returned to their land on Friday, 14 May 1948. On that Fridpeace

ay, a ceremony was led by David Ben-Gurion during which he declared that Israel was once again a nation. The ceremony began at 4:00 pm before the British left.1 The Jewish Virtual Library reports that,

After Ben-Gurion finished reading the declaration, Rabbi Maimon recited the prayer, “Praised are You, Lord, our God, King of the Universe, for granting us life, for sustaining us, and for helping us to reach this day,” to which the assembled responded, “Amen!”

Four hours later, Egypt bombed Tel Aviv. The new state was recognized that night by the United States and three days later by the USSR.2

So on the rebirth of the nation of Israel, rather than being greeted with a celebration after the Holocaust in Germany in World Was II, Israel was given the gift of war by a neighboring nation. That was the first such gift. Almost twenty more “gifts” have followed, with most of the more recent conflicts being between Hamas and Israel. Israel has experienced almost seventy-five years of conflict with their Arab neighbors. The United States of America has usually been an ally for Israel over these years, along with the British and other European nations. But peace in the Middle East between Israel and its Arab neighbors has been elusive. Numerous attempts to create a peace treaty have failed. Every president of the United States since 1948 has pledged to attempt to accomplish that feat.

From 2024 to 2025, Israel has been in constant conflict with the Hamas forces in the Gaza Strip. The conflict is known as the Gaza War. But on 12 October 2025, President Donald J. Trump announced that peace in the Middle East had been reached between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The Hill stated,

President Trump on Monday completed a whirlwind trip to the Middle East to tout what he called an “historic dawn of a new Middle East” and formally sign a peace deal to end the fighting in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.

The trip was something of a victory lap for Trump, who basked in applause from Israeli lawmakers at the Knesset and was repeatedly praised during the signing ceremony in Egypt. It was also a cause for celebration for many families as Israeli hostages held by Hamas were released after two years of captivity.

Palestinians also rejoiced when Israel let out 250 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails and 1,700 Gazans arrested after Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack.
. . .
“This took 3,000 years to get to this point. Can you believe it?” Trump said as he signed the peace agreement at a ceremony in Egypt. “And it’s going to hold up, too. It’s going to hold up.”3

The White House website called the agreement that was signed in Egypt The Trump Peace Agreement. But the media called the agreement the “Gaza Peace Summit,” or the “Gaza Peace Deal.” It was signed by Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the president of the Republic of Turkey. The agreement was signed in Egypt while representatives from twenty countries were in attendance.4 Some of the attendees were the leaders of Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, and Greece. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an observant Jew, did not attend the meeting in Egypt because it conflicted with a Jewish holiday.

Golden Age of the Middle East

But among all of the positive words and accolades, the most significant event was President Trump’s repeated calls for other Arab nations to sign the Abraham Accords, which were initially signed in 2020 by Israel, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Morocco and Sudan.5 The purpose of the Abraham Accords was and is to normalize relations between Israel and the Arab nations and bring peace for all the nations in the Middle East. The Abraham Accords is designed to provide economic and defense cooperation among the signers.6

The name, Abraham, was adopted for this alliance because both Jews and Arabs trace their lineage and their religions back to their great ancestor, Abraham. In addition, Jews, Arabs, and Christians highly respect Abraham. His name expresses a common unity. The news agency, MSN, quoted President Trump as declaring, ‘”It took 3,000 years.” Trump heralds the ‘golden age of the Middle East’ in speeches to Arab leaders and Israel.7 That is the goal of Trump’s Abraham Accords.

“It took 3,000 years to herald in the
golden age of the Middle East.”

On 18 October 2025, almost a week after the Gaza Peace Summit, Hamas attacked Israeli soldiers. In response Israel defended their troops by attacking Hamas forces. President Trump had warned Hamas that they would be destroyed if they violated the peace agreement. Only time will reveal if President Trump can accomplish peace in the Middle East.

The Golden Age in Bible Prophecy

This raises a very important question. Are the “Abraham Accords” and the “golden age of the Middle East” mentioned in Bible prophecy? The answer is, “No!” They are not mentioned by name, but a future world leader will offer Israel a peace treaty. There is also a prophecy that speaks of a golden age for Israel. The purpose of this brief study is to explain both of them.

The prophecy about a ten-nation-alliance is mentioned in Daniel 2:42-43 and again in Daniel 7:7-8. In Daniel 2:42-43, it is symbolized by an alliance of ten toes. Verse 42 says part of the alliance will be strong and other parts of the alliance will be weak. This is a good description of the Abraham Accords at this point in time. Therefore, verse 43 tells us the alliance will be brittle.

And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery. Daniel 2:43 (NASB)

The symbolism is repeated in Daniel 7:7-8 and there it is referred to as ten horns. Then Daniel 7:24 defines the ten horns as ten kings. So, we do not need to guess about the meaning of the ten toes or the ten horns. These ten kings are also mentioned in Revelation 17:12, and there we are told they represent ten nations.

We are also told in Daniel 7:8 that another horn, called the little horn, will arise and remove three of these kings and take control of the alliance. That will leave just seven nations and the little horn for a total of eight nations. That reveals the little horn will actually be a very powerful king. This horn will be the antichrist. So at that point, the alliance of ten nations will be reduced to seven nations and one very powerful nation will control the alliance.

Next, Daniel 9:27 tells us that a treaty or an alliance will be made with Israel. Since the Abraham Accords is an alliance, it could qualify as the alliance mentioned in this verse. The alliance is promised by the antichrist. You might say, “But the Abraham Accords does not have ten nations.” That is true, so these accords at not a fulfillment of the prophecies in Daniel 2, 7, and 9.

But, it could fulfill the prophecy if five more nations join the alliance. Consider that Reuters reported on 01 August 2025 that Azerbaijan and some central Asian allies are considering signing the Abraham Accords.8 Also, Reuters and others state that Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in the Abraham Accords, but insists that a Palestinian state be established as a condition for signing. Reuters reports,

The kingdom has repeatedly said it would not recognize Israel without steps towards Israeli recognition of a Palestinian state.9

Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994 had already signed formal diplomatic agreements with Israel before the Abraham Accords was established.10 Since Egypt and Turkey signed the Trump Peace Agreement, it would seem they may sign the Abraham Accords. It has been suggested that Syria may sign since King Assad no longer controls the nation.

If all of these nations joined the alliance, that would result in more than ten nations signing the Abraham Accords: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. It is also possible that Saudi Arabia could decide to sign, as well as the unknown central Asian allies. The treaty or alliance mentioned in Daniel 9:27 may become a reality in the years or decades yet ahead in the future. Only time will reveal what will happen. While we do not know when or how the biblical prophecy will be fulfilled, it is clear that God has given believers signs of His future plan for Israel and our world. He did this because He wants us to know the future and not be worried, fearful, or anxious. Instead, we can rejoice and watch biblical prophecy be fulfilled. That would give many even greater confidence in the Scriptures.

Conclusion

If the Abraham Accords proves to be the alliance mentioned in Daniel 9:27, then it will not usher in a golden age of peace in the Middle East. Instead, it will usher in the antichrist and the seven year tribulation during which God will pour out His wrath on this wicked world. The horrors of the tribulation are described in Revelation 6-19. The battle of Armageddon will occur at the end of the tribulation with the nations of the Middle East, Russia, China, and the rest of the nations, including the United States attacking Israel. But at the end of the tribulation, Jesus Christ will return as King of kings and Lord of lords and defeat the nations of the world. Then He will set up His millennial kingdom and rule the world. Now that will be the true golden age for all the world, including the Middle East. The golden age will finally become a reality and fulfill a great volume of prophecies.

“When the second coming of Christ
occurs, He will herald in the
golden age for the world.”
