Bible Question:

Why do many Christians think that human beings are the highest form of animals?! We are not.. not!! We are Christians. Christians were never made to think that way, but why do they?

Bible Answer:

Most Christians do not consider themselves to be “higher” than other human beings. When you say “highest form of animals,” could we rephrase the statement to “higher than dogs, bluejays, pigs, ants, or squid”? Do you believe that there is no difference between hawks, lizards, chickens, tarantulas, sharks, and human beings? If so, consider the following passage,

All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. (NASB) 1 Cor. 15:39

The message here is that human beings are different from the land animals (such as cattle, lions, and wolves), fish, and birds. That is, human beings did not evolve from a lower complex life form. In fact, God made man in His image according to Genesis 1:26,

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” (NASB) Genesis 1:26

Since God is higher than His creation and since He did not make land animals, fish, and birds in His image, it is clear that human beings are higher than the animals.

Conclusion:

The human race is a higher life form above all the animals because each human being is made in God’s image.
