Comment

This prophecy about Jesus from the prophet Isaiah, 700 – 681 B.C., speaks of the time when He would be beaten and humiliated. The prophecy came true along with many other prophesies that foresaw Jesus’ betrayal, trial, beatings and crucifixion.

Pontius Pilate stated in one his reports to Rome that Jesus was beaten and whipped by the Roman soldiers (Acts of Pontius Pilate. – Justin Martyr, First Apology 35).
