I can count all my bones.
They look, they stare at me . . . Psalm 22:16-17  (NASB)

. . . so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.  Zechariah 12:10  (NASB)

Fulfillment

And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him. Luke 23:33   (NKJV)

Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”  John 20:27-28 (NASB)

Comment

This prophecy was written about 900 B.C. and then in 1 April A.D. 33, the soldiers pierced His hands and feet with nails as they pounded the nails into the wood post of the cross. The apostle Thomas doubted the reports that Jesus had returned to life. He did not believe. Eventually, he believed when was able to put his fingers into to nail holes in Jesus’ hands and feet and the hole in His side. Then he exclaimed, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28). Yes, Jesus’ hands and feet were nailed in fulfillment of the prophecies.

The Roman governor who ordered that Jesus be crucified wrote these words in a report to Rome, “and they that crucified Him parted it among them. And that these things did happen, you can ascertain from the Acts of Pontius Pilate (Justin Martyr, First Apology 35).
