We
already know that the Antichrist will take control of the world’s
economy when he and the demonic forces require that anyone who
buys or sells must have the mark of “666” (Rev. 13:16-18).
The Antichrist will not only have the greatest military power,
but he will also have control of the world’s economy. Where
will he keep track of everyone’s identity? Where will the
administration offices and bureaucracy be that must track every
man, woman, and child? They do not exist today. Maybe they will
be located in Babylon. If so, this could explain why the world
economy will be in ruin when Babylon the Great is destroyed in
this chapter. The destruction of Babylon and the collapse of
the world economy will come later at the end of the Tribulation.

After
these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven,
having great authority, and the earth was illumined with
his glory. And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen,
fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place
of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison
of every unclean and hateful bird. For all the nations have
drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the
kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with
her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the
wealth of her sensuality.” (NASB) Rev. 19:13 |
Fallen,
Fallen. Wow, what a verse!
The announcement of final destruction of Babylon will be given by a holy angel. The angel is announcing what
will quickly occur. It will be God’s action. He is in control. I am glad that our righteous and just God
is in control, and not immoral, self-centered leaders. God is in silent total control today, not just in the
past or in the future. There is nothing that God cannot control.
