Bible Question: Please
help me understand more, I am confused, I have come to believe that
Jesus is God and God is Jesus. I see in my mind's eye that Jesus
is the Creator of everything, to an extent. But when Jesus was born
and walked on the earth, it was the second time He had done it. I
believe the first time was in Adam and Eve's time when God walked
in the garden and that God was Jesus. The first time He was born
by the earth and the second He was born by man. Looking at it in
perspective, everything was created through Jesus. He descended to
the lower earthly regions and ascended to the highest of the cosmos
in order to fill it. If Jesus came walking once before and if He
comes again, then He will not be walking but flying, as in, "He
is coming with the clouds." According to this theory would this
not be His third coming and not the second? Please help my inquisitiveness..
Bible Answer: There
are several important points that we are going to talk about. The
first one is, "Who is Jesus?" It is critical that we really
understand who Jesus is and what He did. Therefore, I would encourage
you to investigate a study at this site entitled, "Jesus
Our Savior." The study will provide you with scriptures
which will help to explain that Jesus is God, that He created the
universe, and that He is an eternal being. There are also two previous
questions entitled, "What
is the meaning of the phrase 'Son of Man' and 'Son of God'"?
and "What does the Bible
mean when it says Jesus is the only begotten Son?" which
will be helpful in answering your comment that Jesus was born and
walked upon the earth.
Jesus' Existence. Jesus has always existed
and He will always exist. His existence did not begin when He was born of the
virgin in Bethlehem. God is a spirit and He cannot die. He is an eternal being
who has life in Himself. He is self-existing.

For
just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to
the Son also to have life in Himself . . . (NASB) John 5:26 |
God
says that there is no other God but Himself.
| |
Remember
the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me . . . (NASB) Is. 46:9 |
Yet
in Isaiah 48:16 when we read verse 16, Jesus is speaking and refers
to God the Father and the Holy Spirit. God is a plural-one. He is
one, yet He is three. We say God is a Trinity. We do not understand
the Trinity. It is a mystery, and I would encourage you to investigate
another study entitled, "Who
Is God?" Both the Father and Jesus are God. God is self
existing. Jesus has always existed. Colossians
1:16-17 says that He created all things. So if Jesus has not always
existed, He had to create himself. How can that be?
