Bible Question:
You have tried so hard to prove that Christ is the Messiah
(Meshia or Mashiach), but none of the historical facts that
you provide suggest it. Why are you so kind to try and force
us to follow your belief? How can we trust Christ after the
bad experience of the last 1960 years of bloody history?
Bible Answer:
You have given us three questions. We take them in the order
you asked them.
Historical Facts.
You are correct that the historical
facts do not prove that Jesus is the Messiah
. These facts have been provided at this site for two major
reasons. First, these historical references demonstrate that
Jesus Christ did exist. The quotes come from non-Christian
sources. There are some who are currently attempting to revise
the historical facts about
Christ. They claim that Christ never existed. These quotes
show their error. Second,
the historical quotes give anyone, including Jewish people,
a reason to stop and ask, "Is Christ the Messiah?" The
rabbis have said that when Messiah comes he will usher in
a time of universal peace. The rabbis also teach that when
Messiah comes he will come with power and perform wonders.
Jesus came with power and did many miracles. Christ
also died when the prophet Daniel predicted that He would
die in A.D. 33
.
These are facts that one should think about.
Encourage Belief.
We are trying to encourage (never force) others to believe
in Christ. We believe that Christ is the Messiah and that
those who reject Him will spend eternity suffering. But those
who accept Christ as their Messiah and God will spend eternity
in heaven.

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no
other name under heaven that has been given among men,
by which we must be saved. (NASB) Acts 4:12

Bloody History.
Within Judaism there are conservative, reformed, and orthodox
Jews. Conservative Jews do not think and act like orthodox
Jews, nor do all Christians act like one another. Reformed
Jews do not believe and practice their Jewish faith as the
orthodox Jews do either. The same is true within Christianity.
Many who claim to be Christians are not true
believers
and genuine Christians
. For many, being a Christian is not a relationship with God.
It is part of their culture. So, when we look back in Crusades
and Spanish Inquisition that occurred, we must remember that
it was the Roman Catholic Church which did these things. Protestant
Christians have never believed that war converts men and women.
In fact, Protestants are strong supporters of Israel. Jesus
Christ never encouraged his followers to go to war. In fact,
history tells us that He did not fight to prevent His own death.
In fact, one of His followers attempted to use a sword to prevent
Christ from dying and here is what Jesus did.

. . .
Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and seized Him.
And behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached
and drew out his sword, and struck the slave of the
high priest, and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to
him, “Put your sword back into its place; for
all those who take up the sword shall perish by the
sword. (NASB) Matt. 26:50-52

Christ came in peace and died a cruel death.
Conclusion:
Why did Christ die? He died to forgive our sins. Here are the
words of Isaiah the prophet about the Messiah.
| |
But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He
was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for
our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging
we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way; but the LORD
has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him. He
was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not
open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
so He did not open His mouth.
(NASB) Isa. 53:5-7

We can have peace with God
by believing that Jesus is
the Messiah and God.
