taken away our sin. He had to be God to be perfect - God cannot
sin (Heb. 4:15).
The Solid Roots study entitled "Jesus Our Savior" discusses this last point in depth. I would encourage you to
read and study the lesson.
Conclusion: The test of a false teacher such as the cults is as follows:
| |
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to
see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have
gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every
spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. (NASB) 1 John 4:1-3 |
The test is Jesus, who is God, became a human. The cults either
want to say Jesus is ONLY a man or that He is ONLY God. Praise
God that He was both.
| |
Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things,
that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things
pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
