The last point of the guideline may surprise some folk. It
simply says "ONE POINT." Someone may ask what does that mean?
It addresses a serious communication error of most teachers. Most
teachers do not work hard in organizing what they are going to
teach. Everything you say, your illustrations, your words, if
you use Greek words - whatever you choose today should support
one point - one theme - the idea or principle God is teaching. Lord willing, we will be posting teacher training materials in the months to come. Until then, let me know if you have further questions. May I suggest a book by Lloyd-Jones entitled "Studies in the Sermon on the Mount." It is an excellent book.
Conclusion: Teachers must remember that God should receive the glory if someone has "been blessed," "enjoyed," "learned, " or "was encouraged" by what was said. It was really the Holy Spirit who taught them. He calls us to be FAITHFUL MEN and WOMEN.
