Bible Question:I am thirsting for something, and I don't know what it is. I am wanting a closer walk with my Lord. I am needing some good study books - I think.

Bible Answer: This is great. This was Moses' passion too. He wanted a closer walk with God, and so he asked God to reveal more of Himself (Ex. 33:13). The thirst most Christians have in their souls is really a desire to know God more and more.

How can we know God more? May I suggest doing two things? First, regularly and systematically read through the Bible. I am reading through the Bible in one year to discover more about God. I keep seeing new things in scripture about God. I ask, "What does this reveal about God?" "Who is He?" I ask God to help me see Him. There are many different ways to "read through the Bible in one year." We offer one way to do this here at neverthirsty.org. Second, there are three great books one can read to learn more about God:

The Pursuit of God by A. W. Tozer

Knowing God by J. I. Packer

The Existence and Attributes of God by S. Charnock

The first book is small, and the last book is the largest. If you really like to study and to know about God, I would suggest the last book. Buy all of them if you can. We would encourage you to read "God's Great Passion."
