Bible Question: How did the Bible get to our times?

Bible Answer: The Bible was written by God and human authors. 2 Peter 1:21 tells us that men were "moved by the Holy Spirit" when they wrote. What they wrote was from God. This is why the Bible is also called the Word of God. The Bible is the words of God. It does not contain the Word of God. It is the Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16 says that scripture is inspired by God. The Greek word "inspired" means "breathed," that is, scripture was breathed out from God. God claims to be the real author of scripture. The prophets, apostles and others were His tools. They used their own grammar and words.
The Bible was distributed to other people (Luke 1:1-4) and it was passed from church to church (Col. 4:16-17; 1 Thess 5:27). In later years history tells us the Christians passed Bibles around and handwritten copies were made. History tells us the monks diligently and carefully hand copied the Bible. Kings had copies made such as the King James Version. Today there are over 5,000 very ancient parchments and many full copies of the Bible. With the invention of the printing press, it became possible for the common man to own a Bible. God has made sure that His Word was preserved.
Bibles have been made down through time. Today the best and most accurate translations of the Hebrew and Greek Bibles are the New King James Bible (NKJV), the New American Standard Bible (NASB) and the New International Bible (NIV).

Conclusion: A longer and more complete explanation is available at this site. The title is called "What is the Bible?" A complete history of the Bible can found in "A General Introduction to the Bible" by Norman L. Geisler & William E. Nex.
